I’m Alicia Joy, the owner of Oh Joy Sweets! Thank you for being here!

Just a little sprinkle about what brought me here! I was inspired by the first cake I made for my daughter’s 1st birthday. The multiple attempts to make the perfect smash cake which would in the end be demolished and smashed (hence the name) was the most enjoyable trial and error I had put myself through. What was so clear to me was the joy that came over my daughter as she explored her first taste. From then on, I always baked her cakes. After my 2nd daughter was born, I started to channel more into creating not just as a hobby but as an outlet. Working in the mental health field, I found it imperative to utilize my own outlets to express and ground myself. I started sharing my creations with my family and close friends. With their encouragement and push to get out of my comfort zone and “just post what you make and see what happens”, I did just that. I am passionate about many things. I’d have to say that contributing to sweet moments that last a lifetime, has to be my favorite. Every moment is worth celebrating and what’s a celebration without that sweet touch?
